Jose Mourinho to Valencia

The Sun today claim Mourinho, 53, is in line to take over as Valencia manager .

Valencia yesterday sacked their boss Gary Neville after less than four months in charge of the Spanish outfit.

And there are claims that Mourinho's agent, Jorge Mendes, has thrashed out a deal for the Portuguese to take the Mestalla helm.

It is also claimed that Mourinho favours a move to United.
But the Red Devils' reluctance to formally approach the former Chelsea boss has reportedly pushed Mourinho to seek other options.

It is thought informal discussions with Mourinho's representatives were concluded earlier this year but that United want to keep Dutchman Louis van Gaal as manager until the end of the season before appointing a successor.

They are yet to make a written offer to Mourinho and that is proving a problem for the two-time Champions League winner.

The Sun add that Mendes has outlined possible terms that could see Mourinho paid as much as £20million a season at Valencia.

He will also be handed a £100m transfer kitty as club owner Peter Lim seeks to rival La Liga giants Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid for titles.
